Hong Tu 8

Wide-Body Electric Van

More Cargo. More Range

Some delivery operations are limited not by cargo weight, but by the size and shape of the goods being transported.

HongTu 8 addresses this challenge with a 1,850 mm-wide cargo compartment and approximately 8 m³ of enclosed space. It gives fleets more room for bulky cartons, commercial equipment and higher-volume loads without moving directly to a light truck.

A 70.19 kWh CATL battery supports longer daily routes, while 2C charging capability helps high-utilisation fleets reduce charging interruptions between shifts.

8 m³ Cargo Space

More Room for Bulky Loads

The 2,663 × 1,850 × 1,642 mm cargo compartment provides approximately 8 m³ of enclosed space for bulky cartons, retail goods, commercial equipment and higher-volume deliveries. The practical internal dimensions help fleets use the available space more effectively and reduce the need to split larger loads across multiple vehicles.

Up to 400 km Range

Go Further Between Charges

HongTu 8 offers up to 400 km of driving range, helping fleets cover longer delivery schedules with fewer charging interruptions. The available range may vary by battery configuration, test cycle, payload, speed, weather, road conditions and auxiliary power use.

Multi-Scenario Applications

One Van, More Possibilities

The wide-body cargo platform can support a range of commercial applications, from parcel and retail distribution to equipment transport and specialised service operations. Cargo layouts and application-specific conversions can be evaluated according to payload requirements, vehicle structure, electrical demand and local regulations.

Next-Generation Smart Cabin

Smarter on Every Route

The next-generation smart cabin brings connected controls and driver-assistance functions into everyday commercial operations. Voice control, smartphone connectivity, keyless driving and Level 2 driver assistance help simplify vehicle interaction and support a more convenient driving experience across busy delivery routes.

FAQ

What is the cargo capacity of the HongTu 8?

HongTu 8 provides an 8 m³ enclosed cargo compartment. Its internal load-area dimensions are 2,663 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,642 mm high.

What are the cargo-compartment dimensions?

The cargo compartment measures 2,663 × 1,850 × 1,642 mm.

What is the driving range of the HongTu 8?

HongTu 8 provides up to 324 km of range under the CHTC-LT test cycle.

What type of battery does the HongTu 8 use?

HongTu 8 is equipped with a 70.19 kWh CATL battery with 2C charging capability.

Can the HongTu 8 be charged overnight at a depot?

Potentially, yes, but feasibility depends on the vehicle’s AC charging power, available dwell time and required daily energy.
A fleet returning overnight may not need every vehicle to use a high-power DC charger. An optimised combination of AC charging, selected DC chargers and intelligent load management may reduce infrastructure and grid-upgrade costs.
A site assessment is required before determining charger quantities and power ratings.

How does the HongTu 8 compare with an electric box truck?

HongTu 8 retains the enclosed body and operating characteristics of a panel van. This may make it easier to manoeuvre, park and load on routes where a larger truck is unnecessary.
An electric box truck may be more suitable when the operation requires greater payload, a longer cargo body or specialised body configurations. The decision should be based on payload, cargo dimensions, route access and total operating requirements—not cargo volume alone.

Can Joint Energy Hub support a complete HongTu 8 fleet project?

Yes. Joint Energy Hub can help plan a project covering electric commercial vehicles, AC and DC charging, solar generation, battery storage and energy management.
A complete proposal should be based on fleet size, daily mileage, route timing, battery capacity, site power, simultaneous charging demand and future fleet expansion. This avoids selecting vehicles and chargers independently without considering how the complete operation will work.
