The hybrid inverter features IP66 protection, while the battery enclosure is rated IP65, helping protect the system against dust and water exposure when installed in accordance with local requirements. Natural convection cooling also reduces operating noise and avoids the maintenance requirements associated with cooling fans.

Flexible Hybrid Power

R-ESS is available with hybrid inverter power ratings from 3.68 kW to 12 kW, covering smaller residential systems as well as homes with higher electricity demand. Both single-phase and three-phase configurations are available.

Each battery module provides 5.12 kWh of energy capacity. The modular design allows the storage capacity to be configured according to household electricity consumption, solar generation and backup requirements. Available system configurations can scale up to 40.96 kWh, depending on the inverter model and battery arrangement.

Can R-ESS power my home during a blackout?

R-ESS supports backup power operation. During an outage, it can supply selected essential loads connected to the backup circuit.

Can R-ESS power the whole house?

This depends on the inverter power rating, battery configuration and maximum household load.

For many projects, installers create a dedicated backup circuit for essential appliances such as lighting, refrigeration, internet equipment and selected sockets. Larger systems may support more loads when designed accordingly.

Can the battery charge from the grid?

Yes. The system can be configured to charge from the grid, which is useful in markets with time-of-use tariffs.

For example, the battery may charge when electricity is cheaper and discharge during more expensive periods.
